Solution to Question number 5 and 6 of the Rectification of Errors of TS Grewal Book class 11, 2025-26 CBSE Board?

Q. 5. Rectify the following errors:

(i) Rent paid of ₹ 25,000 posted twice in the Rent Account.

(ii) Salary paid to an employee, Ajay, is debited to his Personal Account ₹ 8,000.

(iii) Cash sale of ₹ 200 was posted in Sales Account as ₹ 2,000.

(iv) Sales Account totalled short by ₹ 200.

(v) Credit sale of ₹ 5,000 is credited to the Sales Account and also to the Sundry Debtors Account.

[Ans.: Entry (v): Dr. Sundry Debtors A/c and Cr. Suspense A/c by ₹ 10,000.]

Q. 6. Pass the necessary Journal entries to rectify the following errors:

(i) Credit sale of ₹ 5,700 to Mohan was recorded as ₹ 7,500.

(ii) Credit sale of ₹ 8,500 to Sohan was recorded as sale to Mohan.

(iii) Credit sale of ₹ 8,500 to Meenu was recorded as sale to Meena as₹ 5,800.

(iv) Credit sale of ₹ 8,500 to Ram was recorded in the Purchases Book.

(v) Credit sale of old machinery to Sohan for ₹ 1,700 was entered in Sales Book as ₹ 7,100.
