Solution of Question number 55 of the Issue of Debentures Chapter of TS Grewal Book ISC Board 2026-27 session
Q. 55. On 1st April, 2025, Smart Ltd. issued 9,000, 9% Debentures of 100 each at a discount of 6%, redeemable at 4% premium. The debentures were payable in instalments of ₹ 3,00,000 starting from 31st March, 2026.
The company had a balance of ₹ 30,000 in Securities Premium Account and ₹ 50,000 in Capital Reserve.
The company decided to write off loss from Capital Reserve besides from Securities Premium and Statement of Profit & Loss.
