Explain Economic and Social infrastructure are complementary to each other class 12

Economics and Social infrastructure together help in the overall development of the economy.

  • Economic infrastructure is necessary to carry out economic activities. Social infrastructure is necessary to improve the conditions of those who carry out these activities, i.e. workers who constitute the human resource.
  • Economic infrastructure improves productivity levels in productive sectors such as agriculture and industry, by providing support services such as energy, transport, communication, etc. Whereas, Social infrastructure improves human productivity and efficiency through facilities of education, health, housing, etc.

Hence, both are supplementary and complementary to each other.
