CBSE Result Crisis: Over 1,100 Students in Padampur Await Scores, Protests Escalate

Students Fear Admission Delays as CBSE Holds Back Results

A major academic crisis has hit Padampur division in Bargarh district, where the Class 10 and 12 board results of more than 1,100 students from six CBSE-affiliated schools remain withheld for over 10 days. Despite the nationwide publication of results, students from four government and two private schools in the area have yet to receive their scores.

Students Left in the Dark

CBSE announced the Class 10 and 12 results on May 13, but students from Padampur discovered that their marks were missing. Upon inquiry, school authorities confirmed that the results were withheld but failed to provide a satisfactory explanation.

Protests Escalate into Hunger Strike

On Friday, growing frustration led to mass protests outside the Sub-Collector’s office in Padampur, with students and parents demanding immediate release of results.

With no response from officials, the agitation intensified as nine students initiated a hunger strike, supported by hundreds of others.

“We are starting an indefinite hunger strike until the government releases our results. If any student’s health is affected because of this, the government will be solely responsible,” said a protesting student.

Admission Deadlines Add to Student Anxiety

The delay has put students in a difficult position, as online admissions for Class 11 and undergraduate programs are already underway.

With no official marksheets, students fear they might miss application deadlines, putting them at a disadvantage compared to their peers across the state.

Officials Respond to the Crisis

Bargarh District Education Officer, Bishwanath Sahu, acknowledged the issue, confirming that results for 1,185 students in Padampur are still pending.

  • 608 students are awaiting Class 10 results.
  • 577 students are waiting for their Class 12 scores.

Sahu assured that representatives from local schools have approached the CBSE regional office in Bhubaneswar to resolve the matter.

“The issue is being sorted out. We request students and parents to remain calm,” he stated.

What’s Next?

With admissions at stake and student protests intensifying, CBSE officials may soon take action to release results. However, until a resolution is reached, students remain uncertain about their academic future.
